Using Barley Straw To Control Algae

There are two ways to control the growth of algae in garden ponds, UV light and barley straw. Barley Straw is a natural way to control algae in your water garden. As you know algae booming will make green water. Barley straw releases a natural algae inhibitor as it bio-degrades. Barley Straw is used to curb the growth of string or filamentous algae which cannot be destroyed using UV lights.
