Hand Feeding Koi Fish, Koi Fish are, oftentimes, thought of as simply fish rather than as intelligent creatures. They’re often toward the bottom of the food chain, or kept as pets, and our human hubris can at times blind us to just how incredible and clever that they and other animals are.
Being able to interact with the fish in your pond can be very rewarding. If you would like to train your pond fish to eat from your hand, it is not very difficult and very entertaining. Hand feeding your koi or goldfish is not only great fun but can be very useful for getting close enough to the fish to allow you to inspect them for signs of injury or disease and monitor their health.
