Koi Pond With Waterfall

WATERFALL KOI POND -- Although in no approach reduction fantastic than a H2O fountains, waterfalls upon a side or dilemma of a grassed area is located. However, this is wholly unsentimental reasons: a waterfalls, as against to a sources, need walls as a bottom prior to they can operate. Artful raise of stones have been used as a basement for a cases since they used a healthy demeanour add. You have a choice, though if we would have use of fabrication or healthy stones for a waterfall. Who would.

A pond not only needs to absorb oxygen from the air but it also needs to release carbon dioxide and maybe hydrogen sulfide among other gases. Hydrogen sulfide is produced by anaerobic (without oxygen) bacteria breaking down organic matter in the bottom of the pond. The pond bottom has less oxygen than the upper layers of the pond especially if you have stone or gravel in the bottom of your pond.

Anaerobic bacteria work in the absence of oxygen and cause a septic condition in the bottom of the pond. When you spray water through a fountain or when you run water through a stream or over a waterfall you are increasing this surface that is exposed to the atmosphere many times. Harmful gasses can be released to the atmosphere and oxygen absorbed very easily. So Waterfall will increase disolved oxygen in koi pond.

Waterfalls provide three main functions within your koi pond system. They allow you to have ponds at different levels which means that you can produce a much more natural overall effect than if you just had a large flat pond of the same size. The action of the water falling into the pond below helps to provide a source of oxygen for the fish and waterfalls provide the sound of flowing water that transforms a garden into a haven of tranquility. And of course they look great.

I LOVE including waterfalls or features in Koi Ponds - it's a little more true to life for the fish then, plus it looks amazing.

This is my favorite place at home the koi garden although my koi garden pond is not as beautiful as this but I love gazing my kois in my pond swim peacefully and asking me food.
